A tough ABC Motsepe League derby fixture between current log-leaders Mangaung Unite and Bloemfontein Celtic is expected to intensify rivalry. The two local arch-rivals will clash at Westdene sport ground in Bloemfontein on Saturday (17/11).

Yet to lose a game this current season of 2018/19, Mangaung would be gunning to continue dominance locally while Celtic would eye to end their rivals undefeated record in Saturday’s intriguing outing.

A defeat for Mangaung would see them descend to second position and Harmony, also undefeated move to the top of the log. Harmony from Welkom and Mangaung are the only clubs still unbeaten in the Free State stream of the ABC Motsepe League. The two unbeaten clubs are yet to meet in the ABC Motsepe League in this current term.

The hosts, Celtic are miles apart from the leaders Mangaung, the only team managed by a woman, Sinki Leshabane. Celtic are placed tenth on the log table with mere 9 points while Mangaung are topping the standing on 25 points, after eight and nine matches played, respectively.
In the previous meetings of this just-ended 2017/18 season, Mangaung were unstoppable against their home rivals Celtic, who will be gunning for revenge this time around. In a return league fixture last year, Mangaung beat Celtic 2-1.
Mangaung current rich vein of form makes them favourite over lacklustre local rivals, Celtic.

Mangaung depend also on their ability to score goals, notable with 18 goals scored thus far in the competition. Celtic have only managed to score 11 goals.

The intriguing fixture is scheduled to kick-off at 15:00
