Processed pork is one of my favourite foods, and pigs are my favourite animals.

When you call a pig by shouting or whistling, it first will go in an opposite direction; only to turn back when it hears the shouting or whistling fading, realising that it comes from the other side.

I like how proud of themselves pigs look despite how dirty they may be.

In my favourite book in the Bible, Jeremiah 6:15, Jehovah tells the Israelites they should stand where the roads cross and look around. Ask where the old paths are. Ask for the good path and walk on it.

Like pigs, we should step back before we can step forward to do introspection.

God needs us to go back to him, despite our dirt that resembles that of pigs.

I think we should go back to the old path and take a deep look into ourselves.

Our societies are riddled with theft, murder and corruption.

We can no longer seek shelter in churches, because now churches are perforated by theft, crime and corruption.

Every day when one watches news on television or listens to it on the radio, corruption, fraud and theft dominate.

Drugs and weapons are easily accessible to school children and learners are killing each other and assaulting teachers.

Parents and guardians cannot, or should not, turn a blind eye to the way learners conduct themselves in schools.

By turning a blind eye to the sickening state, indirectly parents turn these institutions into unsafe environments.

Schools and churches are failing dismally to transform society.

Parents should go back to basics and find out how their predecessors played their part in the education of their children, maintaining moral values. Pastors should find out how their forerunners pastored God’s flock.
