Somaeb added to Highlands

THE newly-promoted Highlands Park Football Club will be adding the Namibian attacking midfielder Hendrik Somaeb to their ranks ahead of the start of the new season.

The 23-year-old Somaeb was with Free State Stars last season.

However, Ea Lla Koto had decided against retaining him for the upcoming campaign.

Thus Somaeb was made a free agent.

Somaeb looked full of energy whenever he turned out for Stars during the last season, where he was used to coming off the bench as much as starting games.

The player has agreed in principle to join the Premier Soccer League (PSL) new boys, where he will team up with countryman Peter Shalulile, says

“Somaeb has already agreed to the terms with Highlands.

“He will most likely be turning out for them in the new season.

“What has made his move easy is the fact that he is joining as a free agent after being released by Free State Stars,” said a source.

Highlands are also believed to be chasing another Namibian in the person of Ronald Ketjijere, who has also reportedly caught the eye of Stars.
