In line with World AIDS Day, commemorated on 1 December, the Sol Plaatje Municipality held a special service at the Kimberley City Hall to remember colleagues, family members and friends who have succumbed to this disease.

The service, held on Thursday (07/12), was also to encourage those who are fighting the battle against HIV/AIDS in their current situations.

According to Mmabatho Morokanyane, although the day was commemorated on a later date, it was also an effort of joining hands with the world and assisting in providing an opportunity for every community to unite in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

“Words can never express how a show of support for people living with HIV and remembering those who have passed away, can make a difference in this world,” Morokanyane said.
