Music lovers can look forward to a special Christmas concert headlined by the world-famous Sibongile Mngoma.

A Miracle on Urth will be presented on Friday (13/12) at Urth Garden Centre in Kenneth Kaunda Road.

Mngoma was recently appointed as the choir master at the University of the Free State (UFS) – a role that she is looking forward to taking on.

“I’m excited, because it’s something, I have not done in a long time. I’m always trying to keep myself interested by finding different things to do. This is different from just learning a role and ending up singing for that role or singing in a concert.”

The Christmas concert is the result of a collaboration between the UFS, the Heidedal Cultural Market and Urth Garden Centre.

It will also feature Corneil Muller of The Voice South Africa fame, well-known local singer Thoko Nogabe, former Idols South Africa contestant Shanice May and local talent Kenosi Scheepers. These acts will be accompanied by local band Pure Delicate Artistry.

Angelo Mockie, producer, said the audience could prepare themselves for a special experience.

“Although the artists will not only sing Christmas songs, the concert will remind us what a special time the Christmas season is.”

Tickets are available from Urth at R80, or at the door at R100 for adults and R40 for children under 12. Tickets can also be booked online at Quicket.
