The Motheo TVET College in Bloemfontein has sent 16 students studying N6 Marketing Management to China to participate in a 12-month internship programme. This international skills development programme is funded by the Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT Seta), in partnership with the Chinese Culture Centre and Chongqing Business Vocational College. The 16 students were selected based on their performance in their academic programmes. Prof. Dipiloane Phutsisi, Motheo College principal, said the internship is fundamental in arming the candidates with much-needed experience, making them ready for the workforce. “I expect all of you to remember that you are ambassadors of the college and your country,” Phutsisi told the students. The college also sent a group of ten students to China for a 12-month advancement programme last year. This group, part of the 120 students from the seven TVET Colleges, studied Hospitality and Tourism in China.
