The all-conquering Bloemfontein Celtic women’s football side plans to continue making history by extending record wins in the Free State Sasol Women’s League.

The women’s side has won 11 titles in succession and on Saturday (27/10) could win their 12th title.

The unchallenged provincially Celtic women’s team can be crowned champions after the final fixture against mid-table placed Simunye Ladies.

This takes place at the sport grounds in Westdene in Bloemfontein on Saturday at 13:00.

This is one of the fixtures to bring the curtain down on the 2018 season of the women’s football season.

Under the guidance of coach Edwin Lisene, the victorious women can be crowned the provincial champions and thus reward another successful year in the club’s history.

The boisterous Celtic women’s team are current reigning national champions of the Sasol Women’s League having won the 2016 and 2017 titles, respectively.

Saturday’s league match against Simunye is certainly a formality that would pave the way for Celtic to prepare to defend their national crown during December.

The two-time reigning champions would be attempting to win the national title a third time in a row.

Celtic boast 26 wins, a draw of the 29 league matches and have lost two games.

They top with 79 points while second placed Tsunami Queens boast 74 points having tried with little success to keep the pressure to dethrone the log leaders.

Although Celtic did exceptional in 2018, last year was historic as the team scored a record of 222 goals and conceded just ten goals in 30 league matches played.

This year they have banged in 147 goals and conceded 19 (before fixture against Simunye).

Celtic recorded a big win, beating Tumahole Ladies 10 in a fixture played last Saturday (20/10).

The champions’ impressive run in 2018 continue domination provincially, as it has been the case over the past ten years since the inception of the league.
