A visit to a restaurant was a special treat for Eltino Meyer (11) of the Galeshewe-based Tshwaragano All Stars Football Club, because it came only five days after his birthday.

Along with his fellow teammates, he was treated to a burger, a cold drink and an ice cream on Saturday (27/01).

This formed part of Choc Spur’s restaurant as part of their annual team treat.

The Choctaw Spur restaurant in Kimberley adopted this u.11 team as part of its social responsibility programme and sponsors a soccer kit and a free meal annually.

Although the players have enjoyed this treat for the past three years, this was Eltino’s first time to ever set foot in a restaurant.

“I was so excited before we came here, because I did not know what to expect,” he said.

“I am here (with the club) to stay and will never miss this treat again.

“I am now going to work hard towards regaining our victory as soccer champions this season,” Eltino said.
