Final training touch-ups are being done at the FNB Astro Turf in Galeshewe in preparation of the u.15 Griqua Squad Tournament.

A team of football players, who are regarded as the best of the best, have been put together using players of different local football associations.

They, together with at least four coaches, will take on teams from other provinces in Johannesburg on Thursday, 4 October.

According toBarend Molema, coach, only limited tactical work is needed, as the team is ready for the tournament. He says stage fright is the biggest concern for Northern Cape teams, as they get limited exposure.

“We do not lack much, except confidence. It will take our young players at least three to five years before they feel confident enough to compete against other provinces,” says Molema.
