A one-day table tennis tournament for junior and senior clubs, competing in four divisions, takes place at the Dr R.P. Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein on Saturday, 11 March.

It is organised by the Caleb Motshabi Table Tennis Club in Batho.

The tournament is staged annually with the main aim of developing players.

Clubs will compete in the four divisions (u.13, u.15, u.18 and the senior category).

The sporting event makes provision for male and female players.

David Kgabale, organiser and coach, said the competition was also open for school teams.

He said the organisers hoped to continue to evolve more clubs so that the sport could grow through mass participation. It will be ideal if more youth clubs in the greater Mangaung Metro region can participate.

Gold, silver and bronze medals, as well as trophies, will be awarded in the four divisions.

Registration, closing on 6 March, is R50 for juniors and R100 for seniors.

Those interested can phone Kgabale on 073-712-0048 or send an email to
