Strength and endurance was the order of the day as teammates cheered one another on at the Tswelopele Correctional Centre in Kimberley on Wednesday (11/10) in an entertaining, fun-packed display of physical fitness.
Those putting their brawn to the test were participants in a competition between members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), the South African Police Service’s (SAPS) Men for Change, the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) and inmates.
The Ironman participants showed much stamina, with weight-runs and boat rows of up to 2 km each.
The Strongman competition, on the other hand, required strategy and physical strength with tractor-tyre flips, octopus challenges and more.
Trophies and several gifts were handed out to first-prize and second-prize winners of both the competitions.
