Three found with tik

2016-03-02 06:00

WARDEN. Z Three males, aged 19, 20 and 23, are expected to appear before the Harrismith Magistrate Court.

The three were arrested for possession of crystal methamphetamine with an estimated street value of R120 000.

This success by the members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Warden came after they reacted to information from members of the public on Friday (26/02).

The three suspects were approached by members of Visible Policing, who recovered tik upon searching their premises.

The three were subsequently arrested.

The acting Bethlehem cluster commander, Brig. Mapulane Mbeloane, has attributed the arrests to a continued partnership with members of the community, who play a vital role in giving information to the police.

“Drugs destroy lives.

“Young people who become addicted to drugs commit other crimes to sustain their habit.”

She expressed her hope that these arrests will result in a decrease in crime, especially with regard to burglaries of homes.
