South Africa will have three representatives at the Miss Plus World pageant.

This followed the crowning of Sikwari Tondani (22) from Limpopo as the third candidate.

She was crowned as this year’s national winner at the gala event held at the Bon Hotel in Bloemfontein qualified as the winner of the 2019 edition at the pageant after her crowning at the final held recently,on 6 April.

Tondani outshone 18 contestants who took part in the pageant’s category for unmarried women. Tiisetso Mashabathakga from Gauteng and Petronela Mabaso from Mpumalanga were chosen as the first and second princess.

Tondani is a final year LLB student at the University of Venda in Limpopo. She joins Murunwa Mphigalale (24) from Johannesburg and Kenalemang Itholeng (39) from Bloemfontein who were crowned last year. Mphigalale and Itholeng will compete internationally in the categories for unmarried and married women respectively.

Mphigalale, Itholeng and Tondani will represent South Africa at the final round of the Miss and Mrs Plus World pageant, will be held in Houston, Texas, from 7 to 10 August.

This pageant is designed to give curvy women a platform to showcase their natural beauty.

The two women are winners for the 2018 in the respective categories. This year’s international final .

Mphigalale handed over her crown to Tondani, while Itholeng took over from Dipolelo Hou, who continues to set the trend internationally as an ambassador of this pageant.

Hou has become South Africa’s most successful contestant, and has won numerous international prizes.

Last year Hou, together with Puleng Direko, represented South Africa at the Miss Plus World final in Georgia, Atlanta.

Hou, the winner of Miss Plus South Africa 2017,competed in Miss Plus World and won the prestigious title of Miss Plus World Ambassador. She was also named as Miss Photogenic and Miss Pantwear.

Direko, Mrs Plus South Africa 2017, competed in the Mrs Plus Intercontinental Ambassador category for married contestants and received the special title of Mrs Plus Intercontinental Ambassador.

Hou was also crowned as the Miss Plus Size Universe Campaign Queen at the Miss Plus Size Universe final held in St Vincent and the Grenadines on 20 April.
