Talented young performing artists could hit the big time after their winning performances at this year’s Bloem Show, held from 26 April to 5 May.

The artists won prizes after being voted as the best by judges of the Bloem Show Computicket Talent Search. This year was the second time that the competition was held.

The three acts are Naomi Matthys and Boitumelo Mohutsioa, as well as Mosiuwa Motau and Kedumetse Mofolo, who perform as a duo.

Matthys walked away with the big prize of R10 000. The second prize of R5 000 went to duo group Super Groovers (Motau and Mofolo), while Mohutsioa took home R2 500 in prize money.

They have been billed to perform during the roadshow of the 2018 Free State Golden Bean Music Awards. They will also attend workshops and mentorship programmes to further improve their skills and performing ability.

By winning this year’s Bloem Show Computicket Talent Search, they automatically qualified to enter the newcomer’s category of the 2018 Free State Golden Bean Music Awards.

The awards ceremony, set to be held in November, will recognise the who’s who in the Free State music industry for their contribution to growing music in the province and nationally.
