The Bloemfontein Local Football Association’s (BLFA) preparatory tournament for ABC Motsepe League clubs will be held on Saturday (19/08) at the Mangaung Sports Centre. The semifinal and final will be played on 27 August at the same venue. The competition prepares the clubs from Bloemfontein which are campaigning in the ABC Motsepe League for the competition early in September. The clubs are Bloemfontein Young Tigers, Kingston, Kovsie, Central University of Technology Free State, Mangaung Unite and Bloemfontein Celtic’s development side. Featured will be the South African Football Association’s u.21 team, consisting of players selected from the third-tier division, the SAB League. Lehlohonolo Maduna, spokesperson of the BLFA, says the objective is to enable the six teams in the ABC Motsepe League to sharpen themselves to challenge for promotion to the National First Division League. Bloemfontein still has no team in the NFDL since the relegation of Roses United in 2014.
