TWO people were killed and one was injured in the early hours of Friday morning (28/01) when two trucks collided head-on on the N18 between Olifantshoek and Upington.

The police in Olifantshoek are investigating a case of culpable homicide after the two trucks, driving in opposite directions, collided.

ER24 paramedics, along with provincial services, arrived on the scene and found both trucks on the side of the road.

According to Maj. Dimakatso Mooi from the police in the Northern Cape, it is alleged that the small truck had been carrying four occupants. Two male occupants in the small truck were killed.

Another occupant is receiving treatment at the Kuruman hospital and the fourth escaped with no injuries.

It is reported that the smaller truck was a total wreck after the collision.

The driver of the other truck escaped with no injuries and the police investigation continues.
