THE family of the late Natefo Segoje (15) said this was a very trying time for them after news that a suspect had been arrested in connection with the murder of their teenage daughter.

The decomposed body of Natefo, a gr. 7 learner of the Seodin Primary School, was found on Tuesday, 5 April, in a drain at the Mapoteng Primary School.

According to a Facebook post by the family spokesperson, Doreen Bokgwathile, Natefo’s mother, Masabata, spends sleepless nights after news that the suspect confessed to the killing.

“Now we have to go through another process by getting a state lawyer, spending time in court. He’s not denying it, why can’t they just sentence him?” read the post.

Bokgwathile said the family felt liberated from fear after the arrest and hoped for a sentence of at least 25 years.
