TSHIPI E NTLE MANGANESE MINING continues to support sport and promote the green economy within the community where it operates.

This time the mine, in conjunction with the Joe Morolong Rural Soccer Tournament organisers, hosted youngsters and masters soccer teams over two consecutive weekends in February and March.

The tournament culminated in the finals being played on Sunday, 6 March, at the Rusfontein Wyk 10 Village of the Joe Morolong Local Municipality.

According to a media release, the tournament was part of Tshipi e Ntle’s efforts to interact with the broader community of the Joe Morolong Local Municipality through the promotion and support of sport, and also to encourage the young to adopt a green lifestyle through educational initiatives.

As part of their support to the initiative, the mine donated four soccer kits to the finalists of both the youngsters and the masters respectively.

Tsineng Village Youngsters prevailed over Gamoroona Youngsters, while Kganyape Masters prevailed over Buthetheletsi Masters.

The young spectators still at school were presented with Proudly South African environmentally-friendly green products in the form of re-purposed school bags made of 100% recycled plastic material with solar panels. The general manager of Tshipi e Ntle Manganese Mining, Ezekiel Lotlhare, was in attendance and also handed over the soccer kits to the finalists.
