The Welkom Regional Court has recently sentenced Thekiso Bethuel Mali (23) and Teboho David Motaung (26) to 30 years imprisonment each for murdering Xolile “Ndoyi” Koti (46).

They were sentenced recently after being found guilty of murder and defeating the ends of justice.

The accused were co-workers of the deceased they murdered on 25 December 2015 after a bitter quarrel.

Sgt Stephen Tha-keng, the Welkom police cluster spokesperson, said Koti’s badly decomposed body was dug up from a shallow grave in the bushes on the Wonderkop farm near Riebeeckstad.

He said investigations revealed that the deceased had been stabbed to death before he was buried in a shallow grave by the suspects.

Maj.Gen. Lerato Molale, the commander of the Welkom police cluster, has welcomed the conviction of the two men.

Molale applauded investigating officer, Sgt Teswin Carls, for the good work.
