Four young girls were raped on Tuesday, 8 November, in Homevale, Kimberley.

The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit of the police are looking for a suspect, believed to be in his 20s, in connection with these rapes.

The suspected rapist is believed to be operating in the Colville and Floors area in Kimberley.

According to Capt. Olebogeng Tawana, the unknown man allegedly raped the four girls aged between 10 and 14 on 8 November between 08:00 and 13:00.

“According to the victims, the suspect took them to Sewe Dam near Homevale and raped them before fleeing the scene,” Tawana said in a statement.

During the incidents the suspect, who had dreadlocks, was wearing a dark green T-shirt with flowers.

He is approximately 1,8 m tall.

In a separate incident, the police in Kimberley are searching for a man who attempted to rape a 16-year-old girl on 1 November in Florianville.

The victim was allegedly walking to school when the suspect grabbed her from behind, dragged her to the ground and attempted to rape her.
