UFS investigates violent week on campus

WHILE classes resumed at the University of the Free State (UFS) on Monday (29/01), the university has started an independent investigation into criminal activities on this campus before, during and after the Xerox Shimla Park events.

The university spokesperson, Lacea Loader, said although the institution respects the rights of individuals to freedom of speech and expression, the rights are subject to reasonable limitations. Loader said investigations are underway to identify the perpetrators who took part in all incidents of disruption and criminal conduct.
