There are various qualifications to pursue through the Advanced Certificate in Teaching (Act).Students who enrol for the Act will receive the following qualifications: foundation phase certificate, intermediate phase certificate and senior phase English first additional language (Fal).Fully-qualified teachers wanting to work in different content areas or grade levels can also expand their current credentials by completing the Act in their desired area of teaching. All three the programmes can be completed part-time in as little as 18 to 20 months. The skills learned can be used immediately in the classroom and Act completion certifies teachers as fully-qualified according to South Africa’s Department of Basic Education. National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 6 competencies are organised into nine consecutive eight-week sessions. These are designed to meet the practical needs of working educators, and include online facilitators and technology support.
