It was an emotional day for family and friends of prison wardens who have lost their lives in the line of duty when the Department of Correctional Services in Kuruman unveiled a wall of remembrance for former colleagues.

Aubrey du Plessis, acting head at the Kuruman Correctional Services, encouraged the families to celebrate their lost loved ones.

“We feel the loss of our beloved colleagues because we are all family here,” he said. Candles were lit for the deceased and blown out by their families and children.
