Tricha Richards (9), a Gr. 3 learner of the St. Patrick’s College, has been chosen as the Noordkaap Let’s Play Sports Star of the Month for October for her achievements in rhythmic gymnastics.

She competed in the u.11 category (level 8) with three routines – including free dance, rope and ball routine – in various competitions in different regions this year.

At the Rhythmia Club Competition, Trisha was named the best overall winner. After that, she competed in the Golf Reef, Oceans, Kimberley Floors Rhythmic Gymnastic and the Klerksdorp School of Gymnastics competitions. Tricha was crowned as best overall in level 8 in all four competitions.

At the South African Gym Games, held from 30 September to 6 October at the University of the Witwatersrand, Tricha obtained 11.90 for free dance, 10.95 for rope and 10.60 for ball routine. Of the 30 girls in the level 8 category, Tricha had the best overall score (33.45).

Her motto is: “Hard work and dedication pays off”.

Tricha is the last NoordkaapLet’s Play Sports Star of the Month for 2018. At the end of November the winner will be crowned at a private function in Kimberley.

More on Let’s Play

SuperSport over time has evolved as the quintessential sports authority.

With such strong sporting influence within the South African market, SuperSport has been perfectly poised to harness this power and rally the public and corporates to make a difference in society.

SuperSport identified that there were huge issues severely inhibiting the development of children through skills learned by playing, physical education and sport – all of which are imperative to the holistic development of young people.

From this insight, Let’s Play was born in November 2005 with the aim of elevating awareness of our social situation and to introduce and encourage play, activity and sport.
