Women of all ages urged to get tested

2017-10-04 06:03

The risk of developing breast cancer is reported to increase as one gets older, however one out of eight invasive breast cancers are found in women younger than 45.

The awareness is made by the Radiological Society of South Africa (RSSA), who made the shocking revelation that breast cancer constitutes around 25% of all cancers in women and will affect one in 29 South Africans in their lifetime. This figure is even higher in urban communities, where the incidence is one in eight, according to National Health Laboratory statistics.

Women of all ages are thus urged to subscribe to early detection and diagnosis.
