The Oliewenhuis Art Museum in Bloemfontein has organised a Kiddies Holiday Workshop for children from Monday (03/12) to Friday, 7 December.

This will take place at the museum from 12:30 to 16:00 at R80 per child.

  • 3 December: Plaster fossils: Come and learn how to create your own plaster fossils by making imprints on wet sand that will be immortalised with Plaster of Paris.
  • 4 December: Pendants and beads: With this activity, the learner will use air-dried clay to create pendants that can either be worn as jewellery or be hung as an ornament.
  • 5 December: Christmas-inspired wooden coasters: A variety of Christmas figurines will be selected and copied on laser-cut wooden coasters.
  • 6 December: Christmas-inspired bracelets: With acrylic paint and fun Christmas figurines, children will learn how to create their own festive bracelet.
  • 7 December: Sculptural hand bowl: With this craft project, children will create an original and functional bowl with clay for storing jewellery or trinkets on your dresser.

Each participant is advised to bring their own apron or old clothes, as well as their own packed lunch. All materials will be provided.

The classes include a free ride on the African Carousel.

All craft classes are suitable for children five years and older.
