ZSA-RAE VALLA (6) of the Newton Primary School was chosen as Express Northern Cape’s Let’s Play Sports Star of the Month for June due to her achievements in rhythmic gymnastics.

She is a member of the Rhythmia Gymnastics Club and is coached by Tazmiah Francis.

This talented young sportswoman has achieved numerous sporting highlights, which include the title of best rhythmic gymnast in the Northern Cape and Free State, the fourth best rhythmic gymnast in the country and the overall winner in her age category, as announced by the South African Gymnastics Federation.

She achieved first place for all her routines at the 2016 Inland and Northern Cape Gymnastic Provincials. She was also awarded the team trophy and Inland and Northern Cape Colours.

She qualified to represent the Northern Cape at the South African Championships held in Johannesburg in June, and achieved fourth place.

Zsa-Rae’s motto is: Don’t practice until you get it right, practice until you can’t get it wrong.

More on the Let’s Play initiative

SuperSport has evolved as the quintessential sports authority.

It identified huge issues severely inhibiting the development of children through skills learned by playing, physical education and sport.

It was from this insight that Let’s Play was born in November 2005 with the aim of elevating awareness of our social situation and to introduce and encourage play, activity and sport in schools.
