2018-07-25 06:01

A 21-year-old man, Sivicela Zulu Ngubane, was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by the Greytown Regional Court on charges of rape.

In March, two young boys, aged six and eight years old, were swimming in the Mpofana river in Msinga.

They were approached by the accused who forced them to perform a sexual act on him. He then chased the boys away.

The two youngsters ran home and told their parents, who immediately reported the matter to the local police.

The boys were taken to hospital for medical checks and received counselling.

Ngubane, a local resident, was arrested however he denied the allegations against him.

The magistrate said that the evidence given by the boys when they testified was accurate and reliable and sentenced the accused to 20 years imprisonment.
