‘Blast from the past’ this month

2015-09-02 06:00

IT is an evening full of fun and laughter and at the same a fund-raiser for worthy local causes. It’s the Blast from the Past presented by Dalton’s Farmyard Theatre Production, a group of enthusiastic amateur actors, singers, dancers and musicians who have been presenting performances to raise funds for deserving charities in the district for over 30 years.

These popular shows, over the years, have been held in many venues ranging from a farm shed to halls. In the past performers travelled from venue to venue however, this proved to be too logistically intensive and the show is now domiciled at the Dalton Farmers’ Association Agricultural hall. In the history of The Farmyard Theatre there have been many characters in the cast, some of whom have moved on and others who are still with us. Every performance is put on with enthusiasm and a degree of professionalism.

This year’s variety show is a tribute to the history of The Farmyard Theatre reflecting some acts from the past, featuring some of the cast members who originally performed in the act, to new acts highlighting the diversity of the cast members.
