IT was the first time the Busana High School choir had reached the national finals in the inter-schools choir competition and their outstanding performance was awarded the first prize.

The competition started in April when the Busana choir won the circuit level competition and then moved onto district level, held in Greytown which they again won.

Next round was the provincial competition at the Playhouse in Durban, which was again won by this talented choir. Then it was the finals which took place in Johannesburg and the Busana High School choir was declared national champions - one of the prizes they received was a piano.

Mr M.T. Ndlovu, choir master and a former member of the Busana High School choir said: “The competition was tough as they competed against former champions and this was the first time the choir had reached national level.”
