Dirty Dalton

2015-06-03 06:00

Sir, I WOULD like to thank the farmer who organised the cleaning up of Jacaranda Road in Dalton recently. This street was filthy and strewn with rubbish. It had not been cleaned properly in weeks and goats roam around freely there.

While the cleaning was taking place municipal workers were sitting on the side of the road, chatting and enjoying our beautiful weather.

It was around 10.30am, so I am not sure whether they were still having breakfast or whether they were on lunch already.

It is a shame to see the filth in a place that used to be clean and tidy years ago, when workers were proud of what they were doing.

Now they do not seem to worry about hanging out in the local shops or sauntering along the roads during working hours.
