THIS pint-sized powerhouse, who turned nine yesterday, is on her way to Turkey to represent South Africa in the Miss Mini Universe-World contest.

Deantê Swart, Wembley College pupil, is the only South African taking part with entrants from all over the world. Deantê, her mother and father will travel to Turkey this week with Caroline Botha, the director of Pageants SA who will act as her chaperone.

This 10-day contest covers a wide range of categories on which the entrants are judged - national costumes, sports, heritage, ballroom, speech, talent (Deantê will dance), how the girls interact with each other and on special outreaches. Included is the entrantand#039;s record of charity work and helping others. Deantê. has been involved in assisting Letcee and Arcadia.

Winners will be announced at the grand finale on Wednesday 7 October. Good luck to Deantê
