GREYTOWN’s annual club championships and handicaps tournament, sponsored by RTS and Organics for Africa, this year started with great excitement.

In splendid autumn weather quite a few closely contested handicaps matches were played.

Pierre Steyn beat Renier van Rooyen 7-6. Ian Hill won 7-5 against Deon van Rooyen. In another nail-biting match Debbie Commins beat Ingrid Surendorf 7-5 and Robyn Steyn beat Louise Hill 7-6.

Robyn Steyn and Louise Hill also managed to beat mother and daughter team Pam Paul and Carol Adendorf .

More championship and handicap matches will be played next Saturday. Social tennis will also continue on Saturdays. Players are asked to check their e-mails and the Greytown Gazette for information in this regard
