THE second Mascor Golf Business League match of 2015 was played on Saturday 6 June with seven teams participating.

The teams were Mascor, Just Cheese, CPS, Bracken, Pannar, Gtn Development and Gtn Umvoti. This league is contested over four Saturdays during the year and consists of teams of three representing businesses from the Umvoti district. The Mascor Business League floating trophy is at stake, as well as bragging rights for next year.

Mascor Monthly Mug for June was also played at the same time and from the scores the quicker winter greens clearly got to most players. The wily “pro” from St Cathryn’s, Paul Els, handled the conditions best and won the A division with a 72 net. Second was Sizwe Dlamini 73 net. B division: first and winner of the Mug – Tienie Muller 70 net. Second was Steve van der Merwe 71 net. The winning team was Bracken (96) oco, second Mascor (96) and third Gtn Umvoti (96). We thank Bracken for sponsoring the team prizes.

Next up is the Sanlam Cansa competition which will be played on Saturday 20 June. We call on all golfers to enter and support this very worthy cause. Entry list will be on the board at the club.

Sue Jarvie lost out on the money as she was not present at the time of the draw. Next attendance draw will be on Friday 12 June with R1 400 up for grabs. Be here from 6.30pm and you could be the lucky winner.

Sunday golf special - the “9@9” entry fee is R40 and to play 18 holes is R80. Richard Chiazzari is sponsoring a chicken for the “9@9” that will be up for the winning on Sunday mornings. Last week’s winner was Robin Furniss with 19 points.

Members take note, the kitchen will be closed on Friday 19 June due to the Kammaland function. There will be lasagne available at R30 per plate. Please book.
