Greytown Country Club news

ON Saturday 20 June the annual Sanlam Cansa Golf Challenge took place at the country club.

For a number of years Sanlam, partnered by Ernie Els, has been supporting the fight against cancer by organising this golf competition to promote awareness of the ever increasing prevalence and dangers of cancer-related diseases, as well as raise funds to combat it.

Seeing that this is a very worthy cause a fine field of 21 players participated to show their support.

The winners, who go through to the regional finals on 30 August at Princes Grant, were as follows: A div: James de Nysschen (34 pts), B div: Flip Botha (36 pts) C div: Owen Naidoo (32 pts). The winners of our ladies section will be determined on Wednesday.

Our sincere gratitude to Sanlam and Jack Drew of GPS Financial Planning, who donated and arranged the prizes respectively, as well as the sponsoring of the halfway house by Drew.

Friday is happy hour. KM Hydraulics will be sponsoring the meal. Thank you to Kasten and Ingrid Meyer. R20 will put you in the draw to win R1 000 or a bottle of Chivas Regal. Come and celebrate the holidays with us at the club. DJ Rob will be in the house. Members remember to sign in your guests.

Paul Buss lost out on the money as he was not present at the time of the draw. Next attendance draw will be on Friday 3 July with R1 600 up for grabs. Be here from 6,30pm and you could be the lucky winner.

Members who have not paid their membership fees for 2015 yet, please take note, defaulters’ list will be going up at the end of July. Please pay or contact Elmarie in the office to make arrangements.
