Greytown Racing Pigeon Club news

2015-06-10 06:01

RACE two has been and gone with the Naicker brothers once again showing their superiority by gaining first position from the 214km distance from Vrede on Saturday.

Liberated at 8am, the first arrival was clocked at 10.28 recording a velocity of 1 453 metres per minute.

Not to be outdone after last week’s disappointment MLofts shoved in two quick ones to capture second and third positions, and not satisfied with that he also clocked another to fill position number seven.

The old Grizzle managed to fill Attie Joubert’s favourite position of fourth and also sixth. You had better hurry back Attie or I could make it a permanent thing. Get well soon.

The Naickers had very poor returns on the day with only two birds clocked from 10 sent.

The old Grizzle had 100% returns and MLofts were only one out on Saturday night.

Our programme this year varies from previous years as our first three races are open, and from the fourth, which is a yearling race, we alternate every week to open, etc. There are no come-back races as each race increases in distance until we reach Messina. Next week we fly from Standerton in an open race.

Results from Vrede:

Naicker Bros: 1st, 5th: 1453.011;1300.530

MLofts: 2nd, 3rd, 7th: 1360/.898m1358.602;1274.989

T.R. Tatham: 4th, 6th: 1321.984;1285.340
