Greytown Racing Pigeon Club news

2015-06-24 06:00

THERE is a new star on the horizon only too eager to rub our noses in the dirt, which he did this past weekend.

I speak of Romy Naicker flying as RD Lofts who showed the new teacher, Uncle Morgan, how to win pigeon races by taking first positions in both the Vrede and Kestel races. A case of the teacher being taught.

The Kestel birds were liberated at 8am to cover the 203km distance in 2 hours, 34 minutes.

Unfortunately, RD Lofts and Naicker Bros are only flying on the north-west route and yearlings only.

The Vrede race, also for yearlings, was not raced from Vrede because due to inclement conditions the birds were liberated from Warden at 10.35am.

To make a winning velocity of 1025.22 metres per minute at 14.00 hours to the loft of newcomer RD Lofts with the brothers gaining second position and RD Lofts third.

The Old Grizzle filled Atties favourite position of fourth with MLofts in fifth.

The Warden distance was 210kms which is slightly shorter than Vrede at 248 kms

Next week is an open race from Bethal and here’s hoping we can rope this newcomer in, so come on chaps lets pull up our socks.
