Greytown Racing Pigeon Club news

2015-09-02 06:00

DUE to unforeseen circumstances, racing season finished a week earlier than we thought therefore I have no results to report.

Unfortunately, due to the ill health of Attie Joubert we flew with a diminished membership, but hopefully next season we will be up to full strength once again and hopefully complete the whole programme.

While mentioning Attie Joubert, I would like to report that he is progressing in leaps and bounds and when I spoke with him, he is sounding more like his old self - we await his return with anticipation.

Although our numbers were less, we had an enjoyable season with no upsets and the Naickers once again showed their superiority when it comes to pigeon racing by virtually cleaning up.

Next year should be interesting with nephew Romy flying a full programme and newcomer Chris Uys joining the fray. Hopefully Attie will be back with us and maybe the Old Grizzle can get into gear and shake the dust off. We have had one or two inquiries to join us, so hereand#039;s hoping.

On behalf of the members I would like to thank those who so kindly sponsored us during the season - namely Jen Cowie Umvoti Repairs, Platt Plant, Mascor, Davids Motors and of course, our editor who kindly allows space every week for me to waffle on.

I will attempt to bring both my readers news and views until the new season starts at the end of May.

So until next time, good flying
