BEING desperate for rain the following ancient sayings - if true - could mean there might be rain.

and#034;When grass is dry at morning light, look for rain before the night.and#034; Dew forms on humid nights, when skies are clear and there is no cloud, giving the indication of a fair day to follow.

On cloudy nights, the ground is unable to cool and prevents dew from forming, cloudy skies normally mean rain will follow.

and#034;Three days rain will empty any sky.and#034; Heavy rain is unlikely to last for long periods of time. Although dreary weather can persist for days. Heavy, torrential rain is likely to clear within three days.
