THIS has been an eventful year so far, with so many good things that have happened and made our lives fuller and more interesting. Our new principal and pastor, and our other new teachers, have enriched our school life and our school’s sport has been reinvigorated.

The choral evening whetted our appetites for musical items after the group plays at the High School ‘bush camp’ revealed hidden talents and budding actors, and we look forward to our production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which will see our whole school on stage for three performances at the end of September.

The HMB Golf Day, the Sunday Tribune Garden andamp; Leisure Show and old pupils’ meetings far and wide and the various athletics meetings scheduled for the third term are sure to bring together many members of our school family and keep the flag flying high.

In the meantime, with examinations over, the Grade 11s away on work experience (job shadowing) and our Grade 10s still in Germany, the rest of us are looking forward to the winter holidays and a chance to catch our breath before the work of the second semester begins.

On the sports fields the season is also drawing to a close, but our U10 hockey girls played and enjoyed their games at Treverton over the weekend, ending 2-3 against Treverton B (L. Alexander, Zarah), 1-1 against Cowan House A (L. Alexander), 3-1 against Cowan House B (Z.Mahomed 1, L. Alexander 2) and 0-5 against Treverton A.

On the rugby front, the Open 7s played St Nicholas (29-5), Waterfall (19-26) and St Nicholas again (24-7) to make up the league matches for the season.

The U16 team played Faithway (5-26), Grace College (5-56) and St Nicholas (29-14). On Saturday the teams will play their last matches for this term, and we again look forward to good team play
