HAVING an infallibly strong moral compass is possibly one of the most important values one can impart to a child, especially in modern society where ethics and good principles are eroded by television, social media, and poor examples set by celebrities and politicians.
This is why a strong Christian ethos is at the foundation of all we do at Hermannsburg, and it is why religious education for all our pupils - starting our day with a morning devotion, and offering our Grade 8 pupils the opportunity of attending confirmation lessons are important to us.
We welcome back some of our Grade 8 pupils who were spoilt by Mr and Mrs Kohrs at the White Elephant Lodge near Pongola for the annual confirmation camp, in preparation for their confirmation which will take place at our church on Sunday 8 November and to which all are invited.

In sporting news, the welcome rain resulted in two of our cricket games, as well as primary school mini-gala at Northern Park, being rained out, but our high school cricketers managed to get a match in against DSS, with the U15 boys unfortunately losing, but the first team winning by eight wickets, with Sven Klar scoring 59 runs, not out.

Primary school cricketers also won their game against DSS by five wickets, with Julian Königkämer taking three wickets for two runs.

In academic news, matriculants are well into their final NSC examinations at this stage, having written a number of their papers already. We wish them (as well as our other pupils) all the best for the remaining examinations.
