Hermannsburg happenings

2015-06-10 06:01

OUR Grade 10 pupils are enjoying their visit with their German exchange partners in Germany and we look forward to their safe return in about two weeks’ time - no doubt filled with exciting stories, new continental experiences, greater independence and widened horizons.

Back home, our U16 girls played in a tournament at Wembley College, ending 2-0 to St Patrick’s, 0-2 to Wartburg, and 0-4 to Wembley. The Grade 7 rugby teams travelled to Grace College, where the U16 team drew one and lost four, and the senior team won one and lost four of their matches.

Preparations are going ahead for our annual Hermannsburg Golf Day, which will take place over two days, on the 25 and 26 September, at St Cathryn’s Golf Estate and we hope that as many golfers as possible will join us on either of these two days.

September is going to be a super busy time for us all, as we’re also planning to send a small group of pupils and teachers to participate in the Sunday Tribune Garden andamp; Leisure Show; and all our Grade R to Grade 12 pupils will be taking part in our theatre production at the end of term three - William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream - in the original Shakespearean English of course. We intend putting on two evening performances, namely on 23 and 24 September, as well as a matinée schools’ performance on Friday, 25 September, before we break for the holidays
