OUR annual inter-house athletics meeting took place on Monday 3 August.

Individual awards went to Kurt Mchunu for the best overall field athlete, Ntando Makhaye and Aphiwe Nzimakwe were the junior boys’ victor ludorum, Elihle Dlomo was the junior girls’ victrix ludorum, Amnandi Masimula and NkazimuloMzolo were the best U12 athletes, Nomusa Ximba was the senior victrix ludorum and Kurt Mchunu was the senior boys’ victor ludorum. Two new records were also broken on the day. Nomusa Ximba and Kurt Mchunu both broke the 200m U13 record. Grant and Okes were very competitive, but won both junior primary and senior primary sections. Our Spirit Cup award went to Okes.

On Wednesday 18 August Grade 1 and Grade 2 mini- soccer girls travelled to Mooi River to participate in a tournament hosted by Treverton Preparatory School. They were accompanied by Mr Stanczyk and Mrs Billinge.

Mini-soccer has been introduced at Greytown Junior School among excitement and nervousness. The girls were keen to show what they have learnt. The Grade 2 pupils played three games against Wembley College, Treverton and Clifton.

Scores - Greytown 2-0 Wembley, Greytown 0-1 Treverton, Greytown 0-0 Clifton. The Grade 1 team did exceptionally well winning all three of their games. Scores - Greytown 3-0 Clifton, Greytown 1-0 Wembley 2, Greytown 2- Wembley 1
