SUNDAY was a glorious winter’s day and the perfect day to admire the scenery of the Lilani Valley.

A small group of people of all ages cycled, ran or walked down the pass in great spirits. They were participating in the fifth Letcee Lilani walk, organised to raise funds and awareness for Letcee’s early childhood development programmes in the district.

They enjoyed seeing the waterfalls and streams flowing with clean water, the wild flowers and indigenous bush and were interested in the facts and figures about the state of South Africa’s children presented on distance markers along the route.

Participants were welcomed by residents who ululated and called out greetings and groups of children who benefit from Letcee’s programmes sang and danced as they passed.

The finish was at the community sport’s ground where all participants received a prize. The prize for the person who raised the most sponsorship was won by Anne Royden-Turner for a third time.

Letcee thanks those who participated. We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did. To those who missed out – we hope you’ll join us next year. Thank you too to the sponsors Dalton Spar, Origin Water, Pannar, NCT, Beaucon, Greytown Wimpy, Umvoti Repairs, Holme Lacy Farms, Greytown Drugstore, Spec Savers, RTS, Dulcie Brown, Taylor’s, Vuno’s Bakery, H2B, CPS Nursery, Aheers, Mascor, Umvoti Tyres and Barcellos
