Local angler does well

GREYTONIAN Kuben (Nicholas) Naicker did well in the first SA Freshwater Bank Angling Federation Fishing Competition for the disabled held earlier this year. Kuben, who is based at the Muden Police Station, clocked second place in the competition at Roodeplaat Dam just outside Pretoria. Anglers from all over South Africa took part.

Spokesperson for KZN Freshwater Angling Federation, Nicky Durrell, said the competition was very successful . In the contest, anglers were allowed assistance to bait their rods and cast, but had to land the fish themselves.

She said that Kuben, who was assisted by a family member, has a 90% disability on his right side, which affects his ability to cast far and prepare his fishing rod.

This however, did not stand in his way as he bagged second place
