EXCITEMENT is mounting in anticipation of the 2015 leg of the Msinga Driftkhana this weekend in Mphelankani.
The event is expected to attract thousands of motor sports fanatics from all over KZN and other provinces. Founded by local businessman Mr Smanga Mabaso, Msinga Driftkhana is a motor-sports event which provides a platform for talented drivers to entertain patrons with their skills.

Guests can now spend the entire weekend in Msinga to enjoy the pre-party, the main event and get to see what Msinga has to offer.
"This will improve tourism spending in the area, boost local economy, create employment opportunities and contribute towards poverty eradication," said Mr Mabaso.
The 2015 Msinga Driftkhana is also expected to create over 200 temporary jobs for locals.

Since its inception in 2012, the event has featured some of the country's best entertainers including TV celebrity actors. This year's event promises to be bigger and better with the inclusion of Bheki Mkhwane, popularly known as Ndlovu, Zakhele Mapindo, who plays Skhaleni as well as Siyabonga Twala who plays Mpiyakhe Zungu in the award-winning TV series, Isibaya.

These celebrities will visit local schools to motivate pupils ahead of exams.

They will feature at the pre-party to take place on Friday 30 October from 7pm to 3am.

Guests are urged to join these stars in “The Last Man Standing”, a fitness competition which is a curtain-raising event for the spinning show, taking place at 11am to 12pm at the same venue.
"This fitness exercise is our way of encouraging our community to live a healthy life style. We believe exercising is not only for people in urban areas, but rural communities as well,” says Mr Mabaso.

A camping package including tent, bed, power, and hot water and secure parking is available.

Water-tight security measures will be in place to ensure a safe and secure event.

Festivities to start 11am until 4am the next day. Guests are urged to arrive on time to avoid any disappointments. For camping booking inquiries, contact the booking office on 033 493 0913 during office hours.

Tickets will be available at the gate from R70 to R100. VIP packages, at R450, include parking, refreshments and VIP lounge, etc. - Bruce Jalubani, Umsinga Driftkhana.
