ON 23 April Greytown High took on Eshowe High. Rugby, hockey and netball results:

First team rugby, the boys started off well playing with good rhythm scoring three tries, each converted by JP Van der Merwe. The half-time score was 21-13 in Greytownand#039;s favour.

Greytown started the second half well scoring two further tries to put the game out of Eshoweand#039;s reach leaving the end score 33-13.

The try scorers were V. Mkhize (3), L. Mane and M. Hlela.

The second team won 17-0, U15 lost 12-5, U16 won 58-0 and U14 won 26-7.

Hockey results:

The first team played a nail-biting match against Eshoweand#039;s first side. Greytown started scoring with an excellent deflection from Sisanda Myaka.

Eshowe then caught Greytown off guard and scored a - goal from open play. Greytown then showed excellent team work and individual skill from Thandi Mnguni who scored the second goal.

Eshowe pulled back the lead once again by scoring a goal from the penalty corner. In the second half Greytown came back even stronger with Sisanda Myaka scoring yet another goal, leaving the end score 3-2 in Greytownand#039;s favour.

The second team won 2-0, U16 A lost 1-0, U14 A drew 0-0.

The first team netball played a tough match against Eshoweand#039;s first. Greytown lost 34-23 and second team won 8-2.

On 7 May Greytownand#039;s first team rugby travelled to Amanzimtoti to take on Kuswag. The game started off poorly for Greytown, through some good forward play Greytown ended the half on a high scoring a try to end the half at 6-5. Greytown had better momentum in the second half and made all their pressure count scoring three unanswered tries which included a brilliant individual effort by S. Nguse, leaving the end score 26-6 in Greytownand#039;s favour.

The second team lost 12-10, U15 won 19-0, U14 lost 28-0.

On 9 May Greytown Highand#039;s first hockey team participated in the annual Spar Hockey Tournament hosted by Deutsche Schule Hermannsburg.

Results:

Won 1-0 against Hermannsburg.

Drew 0-0 against Estcourt High.

Lost 2-1 against Wembley College.

Won 3-0 against Domino Servite and lost 4-1 against Wartburg.

Greytown ended in third place overall
