Pink and Blue drive this weekend

2015-11-04 06:00

FROM the official opening at 9am by Umvoti Mayor the Pink and Blue drive for cancer awareness in King Edward Park on Saturday will feature lots of interesting and fun activities.

Businesses have been incredibly generous with sponsorship so there will be two Cansa mobile units to do free breast cancer screenings, prostate and testicular cancer (finger blood pricks) tests and trained staff will advise and educate.

On the lighter side – stalls selling a huge range of items will be dotted round the field and can still be booked at R100, but no power points.

Entries are streaming in for the three-kilometre fun walk round the streets, which starts at 11.30am and costs R10 per entry

Come along and join in the fun and learn about the importance of early detection of cancer – it is not a life- threatening disease if treated early.

In support of the drive, please dress in pink or blue and remember the annual shavathon is also taking place so its either a shaved head or pink and blue hair streaks to show support of those who with cancer, and survivors.

Please note that this is an alcohol-free zone and there will be security present throughout the day in compliance with current legislation. To find out more, go to Mimecast at www.mimecast.co.za
