A FUND-RAISER, in aid of a single mother suffering from Guillian-Barré syndrome has been organised by Simply Models at the Green Bar on Friday 28 August at 6pm.

There will be a “curvy ladies” pageant at the same function to select Miss Curvy KZN.

Guillian-Barré syndrome is an acute disorder of the peripheral nerves, often preceded by a respiratory infection, causing weakness and often paralysis of the limbs.

Proceeds will be donated to Mareli du Plooy, a single mother and singer who is paralysed due to this illness and the fact that she cannot breath by herself.

A group of Mareli’s friends started a group on Facebook, BeBrave, with the goal of pushing yourself past your fears and to cope with physical challenges to raise funds for Mareli and her battle with GBS.

There will be lots of entertainment, including a talk by Bridgette Holmes, a GBS survivor, and the Miss Curvy KZN Pageant.

Tickets are R100 per person, which includes supper and a goodie bag. Please support this event and enter for the pageant and enjoy the evening. To buy a ticket, please contact Luzanne Barnard on 083 280 9847.

If you would like to donate and also advertise your business on the goodie bags, contact Luzanne.

We are also looking for sponsors, scrap material, ribbons and buttons for the goodie bags
