AS the first signs of spring appear, the urge to spring clean comes to the fore to clear out the dust and darkness of winter to make way for the freshness of the new season. Make it a double-pronged approach by de-cluttering cupboards of household items in good nick - dishes, plates, books, any item no longer in use, but which could be of use to someone else who is be prepared to pay for them perhaps.

Book a space at the car-boot sale to be held on Saturday 3 October from 8.30am in the upper parking area of Mavundla Square to raise funds for the Greytown SPCA and the invaluable work it does throughout the Umvoti district. This is a perfect opportunity, in a safe and central venue, for anyone who has a collection of useful but unwanted items in good nick to earn extra money. Anyone who has anything new or second-hand, that can be sold from a car boot is invited to join in this morning of enterprise.

The cost of a space to park a car from which to sell items will be R100, and for those who feel generous, a voluntary donation to SPCA from their morning’s takings would be gratefully received. Please note that no food, cool drinks, refreshments or sweets may be sold, this in order to avoid a conflict of interest with food outlets in the mall.

There are a limited number of parking bays available for this event so prior booking is essential. To secure your space, application forms can be obtained and payment made at the Greytown Gazette offices as soon as possible. Bookings will be taken until Wednesday 30 September.
